Golf Outing
The annual golf outing began from an idea in 1992 to become a key fund raiser for the parish. Before this, the major fund raiser for the church was the gyro trailer at the Big E. As the fair grew, so did the requirements necessary to support the trailer. The need to find an alternative project, one that provided stewardship across the parish, became apparent and the golf outing was created.
In May of 1993 the First Annual Greek Orthodox Church of St. Luke Golf Outing was held. The links were filled with golfers. Those who did not golf joined in the dinner and raffle which followed. Due to the uncertainty of the spring weather and the attendance difficulties of Monday events, the date was moved to June and Saturdays.
